My Time at the College
Alumni Spotlight: Lino CorreiaIn 2001 my family moved from South Africa to Gibraltar. After enrolling in the Gibraltar College to study ICT, GCSE English and Maths. A number of life-changing things happened during my 3 years there: becoming friends with all my classmates (many of whom I still run into and speak with today) made the move itself easier to handle emotionally for me. The teachers were not only welcoming to myself and my brother, they were engaging, helpful and completely understanding. The course and lesson structure of the college created a manageable routine where I learned that I was completely responsible for the level and the quality of work I handed in, a highly valuable skill for everyone to have especially in the workplace.

Alumni Spotlight: Lino CorreiaDiscovering that the teachers were all there with a genuine want to help their students better themselves was a stand-out moment for me. Common interests were shared and at times encouraged in conversation while doing coursework. Gibraltar College not only modelled me for what was expected later in life, it allowed me to achieve a childhood dream as I ultimately qualified for a university grant based on my college grades, where I studied animation in the UK. I will always be grateful to everyone at Gibraltar College from the faculty and the administration during my time there. Even today I think about enrolling in the continuing education courses they offer such as Digital Photography or Spanish (Beginners) because I know how helpful the GC can still be for me!
