Introduction by Mrs Vanessa Saccone-Recagno, Student Services Coordinator

This year we are celebrating our 6th Award Ceremony, probably our favourite event in the College’s calendar, and, I am sure other members of staff will agree with me, one which fills us with pride to be a working at the Gibraltar College.  The aim of the Award Ceremony is not just to praise academic achievement, as that is already catered for in August when students receive their results, but to recognize and celebrate the hard work and commitment that the students of the Gibraltar College have demonstrated in their studies.

This could not have been done without the support of the staff and the continuous    generosity of the Gaggero Foundation, to whom we are extremely grateful.

For the past few years we have placed a great emphasis on voluntary work and giving back to the community. We aim for our students to gain skills that can be transferred    to the workplace and used in everyday life. Most importantly, from the process of volunteering, young people will gain a sense of personal satisfaction gained by assisting another person, which will enhance their social awareness.

This year our students have been busy cleaning up Gibraltar, creating arts and crafts to sell in a stall for Childline, sharing their thoughts and feelings on the subject of Mental health and singing for the residents at Mount Alvernia, amongst other things.  But, why not just look at some of the pictures we took at these events?
