Counselling Qualifcation
The Gibraltar College is proud to be the accredited centre in Gibraltar to offer CPCAB;s Counselling professional qualifications. At present, these include:
- Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2)
- Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (CST-L3)
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4)
CPCAB qualifications allow you to study part-time to become a counsellor. They're tried and tested, and regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) in England, Qualifications Wales in Wales and the Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland. Please click on the links above to obtain further information on what each course covers.
What qualifications do I need?
To work as a counsellor you'll need a minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. This qualification will prepare you to work as a counsellor and join a recognised professional association, for example BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), NCS (National Counselling Society) or ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors). To take this qualification you'll need to have completed our Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills plus our Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies.
In the following video, Andrew Thorne, a Counselling Professional at CPCAB, offers some advice about where to start with CPCAB and how successful completion of Level 2 course can lead to progression into our Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies and future Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
